All Verocious silicone hoses feature matching inner liner and outer jacket colors, giving your vehicle the show quality look it deserves. Verocious Motorsports silicone connectors are manufactured with a 3-ply polyester reinforcement. This allows these silicone couplers to withstand high boost applications as well as temperatures up to 350 Deg F. Verocious silicone couplings are perfect for finishing off your custom air intake, intercooler piping kit or turbo installation.
Verocious silicone hosing is suitable for water, coolant, and air services. Do not use for fuel or oil applications.
Temperature and Pressure
Don't be fooled by other manufacturers claims of higher temperatures and pressures, our hoses will meet or exceed their claims when comparing silicone products with the same reinforcement material; we simply prefer to be conservative in our ratings. All of the specifications and ratings for Verocious Motorsports silicone are based on continuous use, not short bursts.
The pressure rating of silicone hose is dependent upon the number of fabric plies in the hose, not the thickness of the wall. The fabric (aramid or polyester) is the component that provides the structure to the hose, while silicone acts as a carrier for this fabric. The silicone also provides flexibility and creates an air tight seal. So even if a 3 ply hose appears thicker than its 4 ply counterpart you can be sure that the burst pressure of the 4 ply hose will be higher.
Reinforcement Fabrics
What differentiates the reinforcement fabrics? Polyester reinforced hoses have a temperature range of -65 Deg F to 350 Deg F, aramid reinforced hoses have a temperature range of -65 Deg F to 500 Deg F, and fiberglass hoses have a temperature range of -45 Deg F to 500 Deg F. You will not find fiberglass reinforcement in any of the Verocious Motorsports hoses, as the low temperature properties are poor and fiberglass is very brittle. We only use high quality polyester and aramid fabrics as reinforcement for our high temperature silicone hoses.
SAE J20 Spec
All Verocious 3 and 4 Ply Polyester Reinforced Hose is manufactured in accordance with the SAE J20R1 Class A Standard. This means they feature the heavy duty 0.254" nominal wall size and meet or exceed all other physical and chemical properties as called for in the Standard.
Although aramid reinforced silicone hose is not governed by the SAEJ20 Standard, our hoses are constructed with the same SAEJ20 compliant silicone as our polyester reinforced hoses. The only change is a reduced wall thickness to keep prices low. As you read above, this has no effect on the integrity of the hose. Any of our 4 Ply Aramid Hoses will have the exact same burst rating as the same size hose with 4 Ply Polyester reinforcement.
