"Turning Up The Boost" with a manual boost controller has proven to be one of the easiest and most effective ways to squeeze more horsepower and torque from your turbocharged vehicle. The Vibrant Performance design team has developed a new boost controller that is lightweight, compact and features an integrated dial that allows you to precisely set boost and eliminates the risk of "overboosting" that can occur on other manual boost controllers. An adjustment key is also included which you can carry around on your key chain for adjusting boost whenever you wish. The unique key design ensures that you won't accidentally turn the boost up when wrenching away in your engine bay.

As of 2012 a small design improvement to the internals of this manual boost controller allows for greater accuracy and an improved range of adjustability.

These boost controllers are CNC machined from T6061 billet aluminum and premium grade brass that is lightweight and durable. The body has been anodized black for a sleek look and corrosion resistant finish. Each boost controller includes with it 18" of silicone vacuum hose, zip ties and installation instructions.

    Tech Tips:

  • Try to keep boost reference line reasonably short if using the supplied silicone hose to connect between reference points
  • High heat and high boost environments can cause line expansion and false feedback, especially when reference lines are too long
  • Keep the supplied silicone hose away from the turbine and downpipe. If this isn't possible utilize a thermal sleeve such as Vibrant Heat Protect Flexible Sleeving.
  • Try to keep the vacuum line for the vacuum line from the pressure side to the wastegate 10" or less on either side of the boost controller. This will keep the vacuum line length from altering the true boost reading on your gauge, due to line expansion.
  • Run a small amount of lube on the threads of the adjustment dial to make adjustments easier
  • Using a socket driver or crescent wrench can make turning the key a lot easier
    Installation Instructions:

  1. Close the boost controller completely by turning it clockwise until it will not turn any further.
  2. Locate your wastegate and its vacuum line to the pressure source. The pressure source will be on the charge pipe or on the turbo compressor housing.
  3. Intercept this line with the manual boost controller, the barb opposite the turn key should be attached to the pressure source and the side barb should run to the wastegate.
  4. Double check your line orientation while finding a secure place to mount the boost controller. Use the M5 thread hole as an aid.
  5. Firm up your hose connections with zip ties. Utilize a heat protective sleeve if the line is close to the turbine or other heat sources.
  6. Drive your car in a spirited fashion, it should reach your stock PSI level. This is because the boost controller is fully closed.
  7. Turn dial counter clockwise to increase boost level. It is recommended you perform this step while on a dyno to accurately tune the car. Turn one half turn at a time to gauge your increase. Keep the keyway handy on a keychain for when you need to adjust boost up or down.
