During the combustion process, small amounts of air are forced into the oil supply. This waste air builds up inside the rocker cover and is returned to the car’s air intake through a breather hose. If it was clean air this would not be a problem, but the inside of an engine is not a clean place. The waste air contains a large amount of oil vapour which contaminates the clean incoming air, lowering the apparent octane of the resultant air/fuel mixture and decreasing fuel efficiency. Although normally aspirated (non-turbo) vehicles suffer from this condition, turbocharged vehicles are more at risk. Oil vapour hitting the compressor blades can cause premature turbine wear, and oil buildup inside the vehicle’s intercooler dramatically reduces its effectiveness. An Oil Catch Can eliminates this problem by separating the oil vapor from the waste air before it is recirculated through the engine. The recovered oil can be returned to the engine or collected and discarded. - Solid billet aluminium construction for a lifetime's service
- Sandblasted and anodised for durability
- Removes oil vapor from the breather line to improve turbocharger and intercooler performance
- Increases turbine life
- Increases apparent fuel octane by removing noncombustible oil
- Includes optional oil-return connector for plumbing back into the oil system
- Supplied complete with silicone hose, mounting bracket and hardware
