Furick Cup BBW #16 Glass Welding Cup w/ Titanium Protector
Part# : FUR-BBW-COVER
Price : $55.00
Note: This cup requires the use of a large diameter gas lens (45V44) to fit #9 & #20 torches or the Furick Torch Mount Kit to fit #17, #18 and #26 torches. If you have one already you can surely use it, but keep in mind that import brands tend to yield lower results.
The Furick Cup BBW #16 w/ Cover Kit comes with one cup, three spare o-rings, one spare diffuser, and one titanium protective cover. The included titanium cover slips over the end of the cups to add a layer of protection against accidental bumps. This welding cup uses anywhere from 25-30+ CFH of argon flow depending on the application. It is recommended for use with 3/32" tungsten and carries a 180 amp rating on constant amperage, which can be increased if using pulse settings. Don't settle for inferior knockoffs!
All Furick Weld Cups are hand made in the USA from laboratory grade borosilicate glass. Due to the nature of the glass, "walking the cup" is not recommended with the glass Furick Cups. The FUPA 12 is recommended for mild steel, stainless steel, chromoly, titanium, inconel and other space grade alloys. It works best on thinner/smaller applications such as header tubes and chassis tubing.
The BBW Welding Cup is recommended for mild steel, stainless steel, chromoly, titanium, inconel and other space grade alloys. This cup works best on thicker/larger applications where you need spread out coverage.
It is recommended with all the BIG Diffuser Cups that you start off on low amp settings to stabilize the arc, making sure you will not arc off the diffuser. If diffuser arcing occurs you will have to clean/regrind the tungsten. You will not hurt the diffuser on low amps but if you arc with high amps you can deteriorate the diffuser. Also be careful not to drop or hit cups against hard objects, as we all know the fragile nature of glass!
