Heatshield Lava Tube Sleeve is a tube-shaped thermal barrier product designed to protect sensitive components in environments with excessive ambient temperatures and direct heat. The material is a specially formulated Heatshield Products fibrous thermal barrier weave made from volcanic rock. The basalt fiber allows Lava Tube to protect components from continuous temperatures of 1,200°F, and intermittent temperatures of 2,000°F. This makes Lava Tube an ideal and superior alternative to silicon-based thermal barrier sleeves in applications above 500°F. Lava Tube is also extremely durable against abrasions and chemical exposure.

Lava Tube has been designed with a special hook-and-loop fastener system, so it can be installed without the need for disassembling components or removing lines and hoses. Lava Tube is available in four diameters ranging from 1/2" to 1-1/2", and either 3' long or 10' long rolls. It can be easily cut to length, but we strongly recommend using a heat shield tape or heat shrink on the end to prevent fraying. Hook and loop seam should face away from the heat source for ideal performance.
