Vibrant 4-1 Exhaust Merge Collector with Slipover ID Inlet, 304 Stainless Steel

Merge collectors have long been part of professional race setups and are just now beginning to be incorporated into street header applications. In order to maximize torque and horsepower, it is imperative that a vehicle's header and exhaust system are able to optimize exhaust gas velocity. Anything that reduces exhaust gas speed will negatively impact performance. A race header featuring a conventional collector generally suffers from a significant reduction in exhaust gas velocity at the transition from the primaries into the collector and this drop in velocity will decrease volumetric efficiency and reduce scavenging ability. This is key because optimizing volumetric efficiency of an exhaust system allows for improved air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, thereby improving an engine's horsepower and torque production potential.

A properly fabricated Merge Collector significantly minimizes the exhaust gas velocity loss at the transition from primary tubes to the collector and as a result, the volumetric efficiency potential of an exhaust system is significantly improved.

These high quality Vibrant merge collectors are constructed from T304 Stainless Steel with TIG welds at every seam and feature hand porting on the inside for seamless exhaust flow. Each collector includes a 3" or longer transition cone to minimize velocity loss of the exhaust gases.

Please Note: When selecting size, the first number listed is the size of the runners. The second number is the outlet of the collector. For example, 1-3/4" x 2-1/2", is a collector with (4) 1-3/4" ID Slip Fit Runners and (1) 2-1/2" OD Outlet.
